About the maker:
Morihata was founded by wife and husband team Yuka & Kaz Morihata. Their small company represents a long list of well-established Japanese designers and brand for whom we serve as exclusive North American distributor. Our purpose is to make their innovative home and lifestyle goods available beyond the borders of Japan and in doing so, connect Japanese artistry and ingenuity with the rest of the world.
Sashawashi was founded as a reaction to the wastefulness and ephemeral lifespan of the textile industry. Made from absorbent washi paper threads infused with antibacterial kumazasa plant fibers, this innovative fabric offers natural deodorizing properties that prevent mildew growth and fiber deterioration. From Japanese-style room shoes to personal scrub towels, every piece in the Sasawashi collection stays true to the brand’s fundamental values: comfort, longevity, and simplicity.
